  5. Sheffield pop favourites High Hazels are back in the steel city on the 17th December for a Christmas banger at The Leadmill. Supporting are the fantastic Dead Slow Hoot who are worth the trip alone, so as a lineup it's pretty tasty. Tickets are a very reasonable affair at just £6 for what will be a solid night out as High Hazels jump on the Leadmill stage and give us a great welcome into the Christmas period High Hazels High Hazels are a Sheffield dream-pop outfit with an inherently northern voice. Inspired, intricate and charming, James Leesley (vocals/guitar), Scott Howes (guitar), Paul Barlow (bass guitar) and Anthony Barlow (drums) create music that evokes memory and conjures feeling. With support from the likes of BBC6Music and Radio 2, High Hazels achieved both regional and international acclaim for their 2014 self-titled debut album. Perfectionists, the band has spent time writing and recording, and with new songs to be released early next year, this is a show you don’t want to miss. Dead Slow Hoot 'Frontman Hugo Lynch delivers powerful, poignant vocals that culminate into an impressive mix of reverb drenched guitar riffs, dreamy melodies and energetic drums that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand to attention and demand more' - English Rain Records An assured quality' - Steve Lamacq, BBC Radio 6 Music 'Sounds like a haunting version of the Doctor Who theme if it were written by Danny Elfman and directed by Tim Burton as a glam rock opera' - Backseat Mafia Bittersweet, melancholy alt rock made in Sheffield http://leadmill.co.uk/events/high-hazels-plus-dead-slow-hoot/
